Hānai a Kupuna
A few hours a month can make a world of difference. Our kūpuna — elders who once cared for our communities — now need someone to care for them.
When you volunteer, you’ll be matched with one kupuna in your neighborhood. You’ll call to check in weekly, and every two weeks, deliver essential items like groceries or medication. It’s a simple act of service that builds connection, restores dignity, and reminds both of you that we’re never alone.
If you’re interested in helping, click the button to register to be on our volunteer list. We’ll connect you with a kupuna in your area.

Internships
We serve as a practicum site for students completing academic internships.
We have hosted students from University of Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi Pacific University, Chaminade University, and KCC-UH Community Health Worker (CHW) certificate program. We have hosted students in Public Health, Social Work, Kinesiology, Community Health Worker, pre-med, and Business Administration/Marketing. Internships are remote with an opportunity to be paired with a local kupuna as part of the experience.
Our Kūpuna aims to drive initiatives focused on food security and isolation among the aging, compassionate and human-centered community volunteerism, and client-centered training for the next generation’s caring professionals. We offer opportunities for students in various academic or professional service-oriented learning programs.
